This year Ms Walker is teaching the students STEAM.
STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths. The years 4, 5 and 6 students are being taught about food, carbon and the benefits of eating food in season. Ms Walker hopes that later in the year her senior students, with her help will prepare a long table lunch, hopefully using organic plants from our school garden. Lunch times on Thursday, Ms Walker holds a Tinker Club. The students, who decide to go, do a range of activities, for example sewing or using the electric kits. If one activity seems popular the tinker club goers will do it for a few weeks, before changing to a different activity. So far STEAM and Tinker Club have been a great success.
